Hi! I'm Annalisa, a midwife specializing in pelvic health. I'm dedicated to pelvic floor care, menstrual education, sexuality, birth support, and parenthood, all with an inclusive approach. I chose to work independently so I can dedicate the necessary time to those who entrust themselves to me at every stage of life, creating a safe, non-judgmental space where they can feel welcomed, heard, respected, and secure. If you're curious to learn more about my services and how I work, you can follow me on Instagram at @ostetrica.annalisaveronese!
Pelvic floor assessment is beneficial at all stages of life for prevention and to treat symptoms such as menstrual pain or pain during intercourse, recurrent cystitis or vaginal infections (at least 3-4 times a year), urine leakage (even just a few drops occasionally), hemorrhoids, constipation, difficulty with penetration, and achieving orgasm. Furthermore, it's always recommended during pregnancy and postpartum to prepare your perineum for birth, reducing the risk of tears, and to improve postpartum recovery, preventing the onset or worsening of symptoms that significantly impact quality of life. The first consultation will begin with a series of questions about why you've sought a pelvic floor assessment, your lifestyle, any existing conditions or pathologies, your gynecological and obstetric history, your sexuality, and your bowel and bladder habits. This part can be done online: I'll be able to get an idea of your situation and offer some practical advice. Ideally, the assessment would then be completed in person, with an examination of your abdomen, external and internal pelvic floor muscles, and your level of awareness and perception of these structures. At this point, we'll collaboratively decide how to structure subsequent sessions. In any case, I'll explain step-by-step what we'll be doing and will ask for your consent each time: if you don't feel comfortable addressing certain questions or parts of the examination, you can let me know, and if you wish, we can revisit them in subsequent sessions. Beyond this, I also focus on menstrual health, assisting you in choosing the most suitable menstrual cup or device and supporting parents or guardians on how to discuss menstruation with young people. I also support and assist individuals in preparing for birth and parenthood, whether they are individuals, couples, or families.
In my work, as in my life, being inclusive is fundamental to me: you will be heard, respected, and not judged, regardless of gender, sexual and romantic orientation, body characteristics, or ability level. I wanted to create an environment where you can feel free to be who you are (or who you want to be) without fear of judgment, helping you improve your self-awareness and allowing yourself to be kind to yourself.
