What are cookies?

Cookies are files that store information on the device or browser and allow the site to recognize whether the user has already visited it. They let us understand which pages are most visited and for how long, in order to make the site more aligned with the user's requests and navigation simpler.

Reference legislation

The regulations on cookies are contained in Art. 122 of Legislative Decree 196/2003 (“Personal Data Protection Code”), coordinated with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”), and in the Italian Data Protection Authority's “Guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools” of 10 June 2021. This framework distinguishes between technical cookies, which can be used without consent, and profiling cookies or other tracking tools for marketing purposes, for which the prior consent of the data subject is required.

Technical cookies

They are used for the sole purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication or to the extent strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by the user (cf. Art. 122, paragraph 1, of the Code). They are not used for further purposes and their installation does not require prior consent.

Profiling cookies

They are aimed at creating profiles relating to the user and at sending advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed during navigation. Given their invasiveness, the legislation requires that the user be adequately informed and express their valid consent, collected through a specific banner on the site.

• _gat — Google LLC — 1 minute — limits the request rate;
• _gcl_au — Google LLC — 90 days — stores advertising conversions.

Marketing cookies — Meta (Facebook) Pixel (ID 1168721590884575) — subject to prior consent:

• _fbp — Meta Platforms, Inc. (third party) — 90 days — identifies the browser for ad delivery and measurement;
• _fbc — Meta Platforms, Inc. — 2 years — records clicks from Facebook ads;
• fr — Meta Platforms, Inc. (.facebook.com domain) — 90 days — cross-site ad targeting and measurement.

Functional cookies (subject to prior consent, except those necessary for form security):

• _GRECAPTCHA — Google LLC, reCAPTCHA (third party) — 6 months — anti-spam/bot protection on forms;
• NID — Google LLC, reCAPTCHA — 6 months — device identification for risk assessment;
• acsb_* — accessiBe (third party) — 1 year — stores accessibility preferences (widget).

Note: Jetboost (search/filters) uses localStorage and does not set cookies; Google Tag Manager does not set its own cookies but manages GA4 and Meta Pixel; the “Request a demo” button links to an external Google Calendar page and does not set cookies on geenapp.it.

The site uses third-party services, autonomous data controllers for their own purposes. Rights of the data subject
