Clinical psychosexologist and sex educator
Hi! My name is Rebecca, I am a psychologist registered with the Lombardy Order of Psychologists and certified as a consultant in sexology after post-university training in Clinical Sexology at the Bicocca University of Milan. I currently work as a clinical psychologist and sex therapist in Milan and I deal with adults, couples and teenagers. My work revolves around people's well-being, with a particular focus on the challenges and needs of the LGBTQIA+ community. I am responsible for accompanying those who are looking for a safe space to explore their questions, difficulties or desires related to sexuality, gender identity and relationships, with particular attention and sensitivity to trans people. During my university and post-university education, I specifically explored sexuality within the couple and female sexual desire, to which I also dedicated my master's research thesis. In parallel, I had the opportunity to create and run free listening desks for women, to offer support and listening in a safe and judgment-free environment. In these spaces, I have also dealt with taking charge of delicate situations, such as those related to violence. I deeply believe in the importance of therapeutic support that embraces complexity, that knows how to truly respond to the needs of those who often cannot be listened to in more traditional settings. I have worked as a sexual and emotional educator at schools and groups of girls of different cultures, backgrounds, ages and genders, in Milan and in foreign countries such as Tanzania and Bolivia. Through these paths, I dealt with dissemination and research, and with implementing my personal approach that combined scientific notions with an emotional and relational orientation, with the involvement of body work and role-playing games and the support of images, videos, social networks. I have also completed specific training courses to work in humanitarian settings and with cultures different from mine, becoming a sex educator in English, with a preparation aimed at dealing with the needs of different contexts. This specialization has allowed me to have unique experiences, such as supporting people with HIV in Tanzania or working with young people with disabilities. Outside of my profession, I dedicate a lot of time to my other passions: I am certified as a 118 first aid operator at AREU and for seven years I have been in ambulance service at an association in Milan; I am also dedicated to singing and music, Latin American dance, skiing, diving, traveling and books!
