My name is Chiara Mogliazza, and I am a Midwife specializing in Pelvic Health and Breastfeeding. I specifically address pelvic floor hypertonicity and help you resolve menstrual pain, pain during intercourse, cystitis, and recurrent infections.
Regarding the pelvic floor, the assessment lasts an hour and a half and consists of two parts: the medical history and the "actual" examination, both external and internal. The medical history can be taken online, and ideally, it should be completed with an in-person examination.
How does it work? I will ask you a series of specific questions to understand your body's condition, the type of symptoms you're experiencing, and your habits related to your pelvic floor. External and internal examination: breathing, abdominal activation, assessment of reflexes, mucous membranes, and the vulva, internal vaginal and rectal examination. Pelvic floor assessment is the first step to help you resolve: menstrual pain and pain during intercourse, cystitis and recurrent infections, incontinence, and other intimacy-related symptoms. Pregnancy and postpartum: these are not symptoms, but phases where assessment is always recommended! You can prepare your tissues for childbirth, prevent tears, and take care of yourself again after your baby's birth (Yes, even if you will have or have had a C-section, and yes, even if you gave birth months or years ago!)
In addition, I support dyads and families during pregnancy and postpartum, breastfeeding and weaning, through prenatal classes, perineal preparation pathways for childbirth, and dedicated consultations. Finally, I care for birth scars resulting from spontaneous tears, episiotomies, or C-sections.
