Your body, your rules

Your body, your rules: a journey to discover your sexuality

There's a strong correlation between knowing your body and feeling good. It's valid and important to know, explore, and respect your sexuality.

Why is it so important to take care of your sexual well-being?

Feeling good about your sexuality doesn't just mean experiencing pleasure during sex. It means:

  • Valuing yourself and gaining self-esteem: Accepting your body, with its strengths and weaknesses, and feeling comfortable in your own skin.
  • Saying no: Having the strength and awareness to say no when you don't feel comfortable, when you recognize that what's happening to you isn't good for you.
  • Exploring your pleasure: Discovering what you like and what you don't, calmly and without rush.
  • Building healthy relationships: Based on trust, respect, and open communication.

How can you do this?

  • Get informed: Ask questions, read, and have your gynecologist explain everything you want to know about your anatomy, contraceptive methods, and sexually transmitted infections.
  • Talk about it: With your friends, family, or a professional. Having someone to talk to will make you feel less alone.
  • Listen to your body: Learn to recognize its signals and respect them.
  • Set your boundaries: You decide what makes you feel good and what doesn't, and no one can tell you otherwise.
  • Love yourself: Take care of yourself, your body, and your mind.

Why is this so important for preventing violence?

When you know your body and your desires, it's easier to recognize a dangerous situation and protect yourself. Furthermore, good communication and self-respect will help you build healthy, consent-based relationships.

Remember:

  • Your body is yours: You decide what to do with it and with whom.
  • Consent is essential: No one can touch you without your permission.
  • You are never alone: There are many people who can help you if you need it.

Your sexuality is an important part of you, and it should be respected and valued.
