Midwife specialized in pelvic health
Hi! I'm Annalisa, a midwife who specializes in pelvic health. I am dedicated to pelvic floor care, menstrual education, sexuality, birth support and parenting with an inclusive approach. I decided to work in a freelance profession to be able to dedicate the necessary time to people who decide to rely on me at every stage of their lives, creating a safe and judgment-free space in which to feel welcomed, listened to, respected and safe. If you are curious to better understand my services and how I work, you can follow me on Instagram at @ostetrica .annalisaveronese!
The evaluation of the pelvic floor is useful in all phases of life for prevention and to treat symptoms such as menstrual pain or intercourse, cystitis or recurrent vaginal infections (at least 3/4 times a year), pee loss (even just a few drops every now and then), hemorrhoids, constipation, difficulty in penetrating and achieving orgasm. In addition, it is always recommended during pregnancy and after delivery to prepare your perineum for delivery, limiting the risk of lacerations, and improving postpartum recovery, avoiding the onset or worsening of symptoms with an important impact on quality of life. The first visit will begin with a series of questions regarding the reason that led you to do a pelvic floor evaluation, your lifestyle, any conditions or pathologies, your gynecological and obstetric history, your sexuality and the way you go to the bathroom. This part can be done online: I'll already be able to get an idea of your situation and give you some practical advice. The ideal would then be to complete the evaluation in person, with a visit that examines the abdomen, the external and internal muscles of the pelvic floor and your degree of awareness and perception of these structures. At this point we will determine together how to structure the next sessions. In any case, I will explain step by step what we are going to do and I will ask you for your consent each time: if you don't feel like addressing some questions or parts of the visit you can let me know and, if you wish, we can resume them in subsequent sessions. In addition to this, I also deal with menstrual health, helping you choose the cup or menstrual device that best suits you and supporting parents or adults on how to talk about menstruation at a very young age. I also support and assist people in preparing for childbirth and parenting for individuals, couples and families.
In my work, as in my life, it is essential for me to be inclusive: you will be listened to, respected and not judged regardless of gender, sexual and romantic orientation, body characteristics and level of ability. I wanted to create an environment where you can feel free to be who you are (or whoever you want) without fear of judgment, helping you to improve your awareness and allow yourself to be kind to yourself.
